retailTRUST Announces Details of 62nd Annual Celebration

The UK’s leading retail charity, retailTRUST, are delighted to announce the details of their annual celebration in London. On Thursday 29th January 2015, the great and good of the retail industry will come together for the 62nd retailTRUST Celebration, formerly known as the London Ball.

This year’s Celebration, sponsored by American Express and Dransfield Properties, is set to be the biggest and best to date, with a glittering new location in the form of Old Billingsgate, set on the banks of the River Thames. Add to that a spectacular theme – the glitz and glamour of Manhattan’s most iconic nightclub, Studio 54 – and it’s set to be a truly dazzling evening!

Last year’s event raised over £1 million, which was donated to support those working in retail, and this year retailTRUST hopes to raise even more. A wealth of fundraising activities will be ongoing throughout the evening, including a tombola with goodies from brands including Sony and Paul Smith, as well as the ever-popular Silent Auction, giving attendees the opportunity to bid on “money-can’t-buy” items. A Grand Auction will be the finale of this wonderful night of fundraising, with all proceeds funding retailTRUST’s vital work supporting those working in the retail sector and their dependents.

No retailTRUST Celebration would be complete without a sparkling list of attendees and entertainers, and the line-up this year is a show-stopper. Attendees will be treated to a show from funnyman Kev Orkian (Britain’s Got Talent/The Infidel), a DJ set from the legendary Pat Sharp (Fun House/Heart FM/I’m A Celebrity…) and an exciting performance from an as-yet-to-be-announced Brit Award runner-up. E4 favourite Rick Edwards will be hosting on the night, which will see many of the biggest names in retail come together to support this charity’s invaluable work.

Most importantly, the Celebration is an opportunity to thank the millions of dedicated workers who make up the backbone of the retail sector. To let every individual who contributes to making retail one of Britain’s greatest industries, know that they are recognised and supported. Support through innovative employment programmes that are nurturing the future of retail such as retailRIGHT, through the Trust’s dedication to employee wellbeing with retailEAP, and through the unerring support that the helpline, retailHUB provides.
