Retailers unite at Golden Square

Marks & Spencer, Topshop and Debenhams are among the top brands to sign-up as members of a new Retailer Union at Warrington’s Golden Square Shopping Centre.

Led by Golden Square’s general manager Ian Cox, the Union has been launched as a forum for retailers to share best practice, highlight challenges and brainstorm innovations to help maximise footfall and add value to the visitor experience.

The Union is one of the outcomes of the Golden Square Smile Awards initiative. Launched this year, the awards invited shoppers to vote for the Golden Square store that delivered the best customer service.

The awards revealed an appetite amongst retailers to collaborate more and work together on the various challenges and pressures within the sector

“There are challenges facing all retailers at the moment,” said Ian Cox. “Linking businesses through the Union will create a level of mutual support that can only help overcome those challenges and make the most of the opportunities that are available.”

Regular meetings have been planned throughout the year.
