Retail Window Competition

The interiors 2011 exhibition at the NEC on 23-26 January will see a special area dedicated to retail windows.

Thinking Space brings you window dressing with a difference. interiors 2011 has challenged furniture retailers and interiors designers, plus one competition winner to produce experimental window displays for new shop concepts.

Each window designer has been given a unique brief that must be adhered to, with subjects ranging from “promoting online sales” to “reclaiming vintage products”. Real life shop windows will be instructed to display these concepts and to help bring them to life.

Will these experimental concepts work on the High Street?

Visit Thinking Space at interiors 2011 and decide for yourself.

How to enter Applicants to submit a picture of their own shop window (if they are a retailer) or a sketch of a proposed shop window (if they are an interior designer). They should submit the picture to Justyna Sowa by 22nd November.

Richard De Melim, editor of Furnishing Report, will judge the entries and the winner will be notified in late November. The winner will then need to curate the window in time for the show in January (23 -26 January 2011). Assistance with logistics etc. can be provided by the organisers, UBM. The winner will need to use products from their own suppliers or may be able to source additional furniture from our exhibitors.

Each shop window will be 3.5m x 2m.
