Retail Sector gets lesson in Efficiency

The retail sector is set to learn from some of the best in the industry about how to maximise environmental performance without damaging the bottom line at the upcoming RWM in partnership with CIWM exhibition (Tuesday 13 to Thursday 15 September).

Visitors to the show, which is free to attend, can access the largest ever programme of free information and advice  on waste, recycling and resource efficiency, with top tips and practical examples from more than 90 expert speakers in 72 seminar sessions at Birmingham’s NEC.

Visitors from the likes of Arcadia, B&Q and Costa Coffee can hear from BiogenGreenfinch’s Andrew Needham in the Energy Theatre about how energy can be generated from food and drink waste, saving on landfill costs and providing a green source of energy.. They can also find out from Hewlett Packard’s Dr Kirsty McIntyre how the company has worked to meet demanding producer responsibility targets without incurring excessive costs in the Commerce & Industry Theatre on 14 September.

Just last week it was confirmed that former CBI director general and Minister of State for Trade & Industry Lord Digby Jones, journalist and environmentalist Lucy Siegle, and expert environmental advisor Jonathon Porritt CBE are also speaking at the event.

RWM in partnership with CIWM is the UK’s biggest event for organisations from all sectors with an interest in waste and recycling. Formed late last year from the merger of the successful Recycling and Waste Management Exhibition (RWM) and the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management’s (CIWM) Futuresource show, it will feature more than 600 exhibitors. Designed to inform, improve and inspire organisations, it covers all areas of waste and recycling, from the full range of waste treatment and recycling technologies to the latest waste prevention solutions, and from vehicles and equipment to practical advice on how effective waste management can deliver a range of business benefits.

You can register to visit RWM in partnership with CIWM for free by visiting www.rwmexhibition.com/pr.
