08 January 2014, NYC – Software development and innovation consulting company, ThoughtWorks, will host its own retail innovation unwind event at this year’s NRF (National Federation Retail) Retail Big Show 2014. Taking place on Monday 13th January, the event offers attendees unique networking opportunities and exclusive access to innovation strategies and solutions from some of its key clients, including The Natural Markets Food Group, The Co-operative Food, Morrisons, JD Sports, Gruppo Pam, and Aer Lingus.

Relaxation and inspiration will go hand-in-hand that evening as Doug Stephens, the Retail Prophet, delves into the future of retail.

Doug is one of the world’s foremost retail industry futurists and the author of The Retail Revival: Re-Imagining Business for the New Age of Consumerism. His thought-provoking work has influenced many of North America’s best-known retailers, agencies and brands.

ThoughtWorks is proud to support popular British convenience store chain, The Co-operative Food, with the development of a mobile food deals app that enhanced its weekly offers leaflet.  ThoughtWorks also supported Morrisons, the fourth largest UK supermarket chain, with its retail agility and internal logistics. This led to the success of the award winning Morrisons Cellar online wine sales operation and the company’s order pad that replaced its outdated ordering system. JD Sports will also be in attendance and are currently transforming their in-store experience using mobile POS built by ThoughtWorks.

The retail industry is continuing to develop and change the customer experience landscape, and ThoughtWorks continues to support rapid change adoption in this area. This change includes mobile technology, changing customer expectations and consumer behaviour.

Mark Collin, Head of Retail Europe at ThoughtWorks, comments: “Following the success of last year’s event, ThoughtWorks is looking forward to hosting its own innovation event, highlighting the success behind some of its key customers. The company continues to support large retailers in developing enterprise applications that can enhance their multichannel presence. Our retail innovation event provides an opportunity to share the latest updates in retail and hear the success stories of key customers.”

ThoughtWorks will be exhibiting at booth 3744. N. America based client, The Natural Markets Food Group will speak at one of NRF’s ‘BIG Ideas’ sessions to discuss the impact of technology within grocery and food service retail.
