Prysm announces first ever retail installation with American Eagle Outfitters Flagship Store.

Prysm has announced the first ever retail installation of its revolutionary Laser Phosphor Display (LPD) videowall technology in the USA. American Eagle Outfitters has chosen the company’s free-form display solution for its flagship store in the heart of Manhattan’s SoHo district.

Prysm’s high-definition stackable display building blocks enable American Eagle Outfitters to deliver high-impact brand imagery throughout the store.  Multiple video wall displays standing seven-feet tall have been arranged throughout the three-story, 24,000 square-foot retail space.

At the core of the Prysm LPD display solution is a 25” diagonal building block.  Solid-state lasers deliver brilliant image quality for even the fastest action video content, which is viewable from nearly a 180-degree angle, while using up to 75 percent less power than traditional backlit or projection technology-based products.  Since Prysm’s display solution uses less power, generates less heat and has no consumables to monitor or replace, infrastructure costs related to space planning and air conditioning are lower.   In addition to lowering total cost of ownership and operation for customers, Prysm’s display solution exceeds industry standards for energy use and environmental impact.

In this iconic store, there are three columns in the main entrance working as both window displays and in-store branding.  Four columns are presented at the escalator gateways, guiding customers to each level of the store.

Amit Jain, CEO of Prysm, explains why LPD is ideal for creating iconic displays within a retail environment:

“With increased competition and changing customer behaviour, retailers today are adapting and evolving their brands to stand out above the crowd. Prysm’s 25” panels are designed to be completely bezel-less, with a seam gap of just 0.2mm, the smallest on the market. The versatility of its modular design allows for the construction of videowalls in an exciting array of shapes and sizes, from columns, strips and archways to curved formations, allowing retailers to build highly creative displays that have instant impact and deliver a more engaging and immersive brand experience.”

Prysm’s display solution is made up of four key components which can be customised for any creative project, including one or more display building blocks, an image processor, user-friendly set up and remote monitoring software and flexible frame options, making the videowalls easy to manage and maintain.

Dana Corey, vice president of sales at Prysm, explains the significance of this project:

“We’re very excited to be part of American Eagle Outfitters retail merchandising plans. American Eagle Outfitters marks our first retail installation, so serving them is an important milestone for the company as we ramp up our business.”
