One Nation Paris set to open in France in November 2013

PARIS, April 16, 2013 – One Nation Paris, the largest luxury goods and fashion outlet in France, developed by Catinvest and located just 30 minutes from the centre of Paris in the Yvelines area (Les Clayes-sous-Bois), will open its doors on 20 November 2013.

Dedicated to luxury and fashion lovers, One Nation Paris is the first outlet to open in the Ile de France region in the last 13 years. It is expected to attract five million visitors a year thanks to key elements including:

  • Its location in the heart of the Western suburbs of Paris, which is the largest, highest density customer catchment area in Europe. There are currently 11 million people living fewer than 60 minutes away by car, with high consumer purchasing power due to an average annual income of more than 45,000 euros;
  • There is an unrivalled potential for tourist shopping as it is 10 minutes from the Château de Versailles which sees 10 million visitors a year, and 30 minutes from Paris which has 40 million visitors a year;
  • Its specific location within the Grand Plaisir retail park receives 20 million visitors a year;
  • The premium outlet concept is currently popular with consumers, especially during  the economic slowdown;
  • There will be 112 boutiques, 4 food outlets and 3 restaurants; and
  • It will be open seven days a week.

“One Nation Paris offers the experience of a Parisian department store combined with the bargains you expect to find at an outlet,” said Bertrand Catteau, executive officer of Catinvest. “One Nation Paris will be the first outlet to offer up to 70% off on previous season’s collections in an elegant and sophisticated space. It is interspersed with gourmet food areas and exceptional services (hairdressers, nail bars, tailoring services, beauty salons etc.). We want to create a space you can enjoy, a world apart from how outlet shopping is usually seen.”

One Nation Paris has been designed as a fashionable, elegant, memorable premium outlet. Its decor and design are both surprising and elegant, providing a unique immersion into Parisian chic. Alongside the 112 boutiques there are four food outlets and three restaurants that invite visitors to take time out from shopping to enjoy a bite to eat. The 2-stories are set out along three patios, the largest of which features a 70 meter-long glass atrium. The 2-story design is the hallmark of the Malherbe Design Agency, which specializes in designing concept stores for luxury brands and international retailers, and delivers a unique visual style throughout the building, including the lounge space, patios and toilets.  AWO architecture firm, a commercial real estate and sustainable development company, designed the building.

“One Nation Paris breaks the mould of traditional outlets. We chose to position the brand and the shopping mall in a uniquely Parisian way: chic, simple and cool,” said Hubert de Malherbe, director-designer of the Malherbe Design Agency.

One Nation Paris has seen an investment of more than 107 million euros. Developed by Catinvest, the concept is intended to be exported to other European capital cities in the future.
