Now Says Data Give Away Will Boost Mobile Customer Engagement

Now, a leading MVNO specialising in international calling and low cost pre-paid mobile solutions, today launched its first promotional giveaway on Facebook.


The announcement comes as Now looks to drive greater engagement and communication with both international and local callers in alignment with its new social media strategy. It forms part of a planned campaign by Now to maximise existing relationships with subscribers and to develop and expand its already diverse customer base.


Tony Ion, Head of Sales at Now, commented: “With 60% of the UK mobile users owning a smartphone, and a large number of those using one to access social media, it is critical that we respond to the behaviour of our subscribers to ensure we are utilising all possible touch points with them.  This promotion will help us develop new communication channels with subscribers whilst providing a large audience to engage with.”


The promotion will see the MVNO give away a month of free data to one randomly selected winner for every 500 likes the Now page receives. It marks the beginning of a sustained social media campaign planned by Now to last for the remainder of this year.


Andrew Davies, Now’s CFO, said: “This promotion will not only add an extra platform for us to engage with subscribers on but will also enable us to reward them for their loyalty. Whilst the existing subscriber base is the initial focus of our social media activity, in the long term we view it as instrumental tool in growing the number of people using the Now service on their mobile phones on a regular and loyal basis.”


The ‘Month of data for 500 Likes’ promotion is set to run for the rest of the year and will see any new Facebook fans invited to complete an entry form on the Now website. To increase awareness  and encourage uptake Now has sent an SMS text message to all existing subscribers inviting them to participate.


In the run-up to the promotion Now has been populating its social media channels with relevant and interesting content in order to further establish the credibility of the pages.
