Momentum Instore Commits To The Christie NHS Foundation Trust

Momentum Instore, the leading provider of innovative retail marketing solutions, has announced that its charity of the year for 2012 will be The Christie NHS Foundation Trust.

The Christie has been pioneering cancer research breakthroughs for over 100 years and is the largest cancer centre in Europe. Treating more than 40,000 patients each year, it was the first UK centre to be officially accredited as a comprehensive cancer centre. It is based in Manchester and has radiotherapy centres in Oldham and Salford.

Momentum Instore has chosen The Christie as its Charity of the Year partner for 2012, (signed up to a one-year corporate sponsorship with The Christie) following a staff vote to choose which charity to support in 2012. It hopes to raise £1,500 throughout the year. Last year the company was able to donate £1,949 to Cancer Research UK thanks to a series of fundraisers, such as a Bake Off and ‘Go Pink’ day. Events planned in support of The Christie NHS Foundation Trust include walks, cycling challenges and a daring zip ride at Old Trafford.

Jane Margetts, Marketing Manager at Momentum Instore, said: “We had a very successful year in 2011 supporting Cancer Research UK, and are sure everyone will show the same enthusiasm this year for The Christie. It does an amazing job in terms of researching, treating and educating people about cancer and supporting those affected, and we are determined to raise as much money as we can this year to help this very deserving cause.”

Camilla Crockett, corporate fundraising officer at The Christie said “We are thrilled to have been chosen as the charity of the year partner for Momentum Instore in 2012.  We are always particularly delighted when it is the staff that have voted for our charity and shows how well thought of The Christie is. We are looking forward to working with them to achieve their target.  The money raised will make a huge difference to our patients.”
