Maxim Creative Group celebrates 20 years!

Oldham-based Maxim Creative Group continues to go from strength to strength as it celebrates 20 successful years in business this year.

Now boasting Manchester City, Skechers and Arcadia as clients, Maxim Creative Group has an annual turnover of £8m employing 60 staff and targeting continued growth over the next five years.

Offering a one-stop-shop for fit out solutions, Maxim Creative Group has fitted out over 400 stores throughout the UK and beyond over the last two decades. Progressing from five employees working out of small premises in Saddleworth, the company now operates from a 100,000 square foot facility in Oldham.

Set up by John McCarrick as a purely manufacturing and fit out company, the desire was always to offer a complete one-stop-shop solution for interior fit out. This was made possible in 2003 when John purchased a design and Point of Purchase (POP) company owned by Michael McVey, which was integrated within the Maxim Creative Group. This means the company can now provide a complete fit out service from initial design concepts through to manufacture and installation.

Maxim Creative Group boasts many client relationships of over 10 years and its service and reliability is key to these long standing relationships as managing director John McCarrick explains: “We want to offer our clients a complete solution from start to finish, so they just have one point of contact for the whole process.

“We pride ourselves in continually meeting tight deadlines for our customers, we have never missed a deadline or gone over budget yet and this is what keeps our clients coming back time and again.”

With all of its products manufactured in the UK, Maxim Creative Group offers a genuine point of difference from competitors as director Peter McCarrick comments: “Due to our factory being here in the UK, it means clients can come and have a look at their projects take shape and we often mock up store layouts so they can visualise what the finished design will look like in-store. This is something completely unique so really sets us apart.”

Commenting on the changing face of retail design, director Michael McVey adds: “Retail design has changed dramatically over the last 20 years, clients want the wow factor but they want it quicker and more cost effectively with higher levels of return on investment.”

Looking to build on its success, Maxim Creative Group is looking to expand into other market sectors including leisure and hospitality and is targeting a 15% year on year growth over the next five years.

The expertise and hands on approach of the senior team is a major advantage for clients as they have direct access to the experience of the directors. Peter McCarrick joined the company in 1994 and became a director in 2000 assuming responsibility for overall manufacturing and installations. While Michael McVey has been a director since merging his company with Maxim Creative Group in 2003 and looks after all of the new business development and design elements of projects.
