LRS Strengthens Board

LRS Consultancy, a leading provider of sustainable recycling and waste avoidance for a number of sectors including retail and branding, is pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Levett as non executive chairman.

Paul’s appointment, on 1st October, signals the start of the company’s next stage of development , which will see its services evolving in line with the needs and ambitions of its clients. Paul will join executive directors Dee Moloney and Debbie Hitchen, and non executive directors Derek Stephenson and Peter Johnson in leading the business.

Derek Stephenson said ‘Paul is joining us at an exciting time; LRS has come a long way in the last two years, and has clearly  demonstrated that there is a role for focused service providers in the sustainable resource management sector. Paul’s engagement as chairman is part of our strategic growth plan which will continue our development in the UK and beyond.’

Paul has 25 years of experience in the waste management industry having most recently held the position of Deputy Chief Executive of Veolia’s waste business in UK . He also brings considerable international experience of the FMCG manufacturing and retail sectors from his time as President of the CHEP businesses in Asia, Australia, Africa, Latin America and Canada.

Dee Moloney, LRS Managing Director, said ‘LRS will also benefit from Paul’s experience as a non executive director and/or advisor with a number of businesses, and his active involvement in a variety of relevant industry and environmental organisations.  He has just concluded a two year term as a member of the CBI’s London Region Council and is a former board member of the Environmental Services Association, and we are anticipating that he will be able to ensure that we understand and meet the needs of our clients as they respond to the challenges of new and emerging market conditions and legislation’.

Commenting on his appointment, Paul Levett said: ‘The market is changing rapidly and, as was  demonstrated at the recent LRS Network Meeting, there are lots of new opportunities to support  businesses, particularly retailers and brands, who are striving to be leaders, and to encourage their supply chain, to leadin sustainability. LRS’s UK experience in producer responsibility, sustainable procurement and the waste and recycling sector, combined with Derek Stephenson’s international experience and reputation means that the company is uniquely equipped to capitalise on the opportunities to meet these developing market requirements.  I am delighted to have the chance to get involved at such an interesting and dynamic stage of the company’s development.’
