JAMESPLUMB wins the Retail Interior Award

JAMESPLUMB is very proud to announce that its interior for menswear store HOSTEM has won the Retail Interior award at the recent INSIDE awards at the World Festival of Interiors.  Our project competed against established international stores such as Louis Vuitton (Bond Street, London), Chanel (Soho, New York), Refuse (Mexico) & Crumpler (Australia) to win the coveted top spot.

The Inside Awards is the sister event to the WAF (World Architecture Festival) and focuses on celebrating the finest interiors and their creators – it is the only global event where designers compete to win an award in person.

A film of HOSTEM was presented by JAMESPLUMB to an esteemed panel of judges from the Design world including Ilse Crawford, Andre Fu, Jaime Hayon, & Marcus Fairs amongst others.  After winning, JAMESPLUMB were interviewed by Marcus Fairs, Editor-in Chief of Dezeen (The Inside Awards online digital media partner) in the Dezeen winner’s talks.  Footage of all the interviews will appear on Dezeen.

On choosing JAMESPLUMB as the winner of the ‘Retail category’, the judges commented that  “The project struck us with its handcrafted nature, simplicity and honesty – and great attention to detail throughout.”   Furthermore they admired the way “The designers felt out their designs while constructing, so that brand, space and clothes are unified”.
