intu centres invite shoppers to Tweet their Christmas ‘Twishes’


Last week, intu, launched the very first Christmas Twishlist, encouraging British shoppers to take to Twitter to tell Santa (and intu) what gifts they would love to receive this festive period. At the busiest time in the shopping calendar, intu is helping busy tech-savvy shoppers send their wishes directly to Santa’s elves via its brand new Christmas Twishlist.


During the first two weeks of December, and in no more than 140 characters, intu shoppers will be asked to take to Twitter and reveal, using #Twishlist, what they would most like to receive on the 25th December, via their local intu centre. Their Christmas Twishlist can include gifts that are available at intu shopping centres across any category (including travel, fashion, beauty, garden, home and technology), and can include Twishes for friends and family too.


Whilst shopping, customers can make use of the free Wi-Fi in-centre to instantly tweet what catches their eye to Santa’s elves, who will be monitoring Twitter closely at all of the intu centres.


Richard Bailey, Central Marketing Manager for intu, comments, “We are really excited about launching the UK’s first Twishlist and connecting with our shoppers not just in our centres, but also via social media this Christmas. Millions of people shop at intu shopping centres across the country every Christmas and we are giving them, as well as the rest of the UK, a special – very modern -way of telling us what they want from Santa this festive season. The Christmas Twishlist also complements our roll-out of free Wi-Fi, which is superfast, very accessible and available across most intu shopping centres.”


intu, recently announced the launch of its online shopping mall, In an industry first, British shoppers can now also buy online from in-centre retailers, as well as other labels that are not at their local centre and have it delivered to an intu of their choice, their home or place of work.

With such a great and varied range of present ideas, a wonderful festive in-centre experience and the first truly digital wishlist, that’s Christmas wrapped up with intu.
