Hotter Shoes puts its best foot forward to improve communications across its retail estate

Hotter Shoes has embarked on an initiative to improve communications across its retail estate with a full managed MPLS network from Vodat International, the leading communications solution provider. The network will be deployed across all UK stores, including its concessions, and will speed up the transfer of data between stores and head office.

 

As part of the project, Vodat is also supplying a Wi-Fi network which will allow customers access to browse the website when in-store.

 

David Ainsworth, Head of IT at Hotter Shoes, said, “Previously, it could take up to four days to resolve network failures. Managing our network in-house placed great demand upon the IT team’s resources and was no longer sustainable for our evolving business model. Since migrating across to the Vodat network, any issues are dealt within a matter of hours. Hotter is a multi-channel retailer and we need a comprehensive view of the customer at all times, so a secure network capable of managing all our business data was essential.”

 

Ainsworth continued, “We were attracted to Vodat’s offering as they are the experts in this area. We migrated across and at the same time implemented their Wi-Fi network, a platform which will allow us to provide internet access to our customers as well as giving us scope for the future with the potential to introduce mobile devices (MPoS) in store. Since go-live the network connection has significantly improved and my IT team can now focus on other areas of the business.”
