Green Room design sees Bubba steal show in Covent Garden
Green Room’s latest visual merchandising campaign for Oakley has seen radical US golf star Bubba Watson strike a dominant pose in London’s Covent Garden.
The US Masters winner is the face of a new campaign for the global sports accessories brand, and now the focal point for a major window display at the brand’s flagship store. Under the banner of ‘Viva La Bubba’, the display features a giant pop-art image of Bubba behind suspended graphics, golf clubs and balls and other elements to give a layered 3D effect.
The main display dominates the store’s enormous stone-framed multi-panel windows while secondary displays in the second and third windows repeat the layered effect to promote Oakley’s range of golf apparel.
Ross Adam, Green Room’s senior account director responsible for the project comments:
“Oakley’s relationship with Bubba Watson is creative and unconventional and our work for the Covent Garden store aims to echo this sentiment. The grand 19th Century architecture of the window continues to present us with a fantastic frame in which to have some fun and appeal to the visual senses of the millions of shoppers and tourists frequenting one of London’s most popular locations.”
The execution is Green Room’s fifteenth window display at Oakley’s Covent Garden store, which forms part of a wider programme of retail projects including a window roll-out across Oakley’s European retail estate and more recently, a 260 square metre exhibition stand at the ISPO exhibition in Munich.
