First Chance to See – innovators launch new products at Surface Design Show

30th January 2013

As part of its commitment to bring together the most innovative and exciting surface designs and materials under one UK roof, Surface Design Show is proud to announce a stunning range of new products being launched at the show.

In addition to returning to Surface Design Show with a newly expanded selection of fabric types, Daedalian Glass Design will also be launching in a new sector. Their luxurious new crystal and fused glass door handles will perfectly complement their already burgeoning selection of quality glass doors, screens and wall panelling.

Friends of Wilson are launching their tessellate acoustic wall panel system which combines design, art and acoustics to create a unique sound absorbent panel that is both effective and beautiful. Sculptural, softly angled, abstract yet defined, tessellate is at home in the smallest meeting room or largest reception area. With sound absorbent felt lining and core material, it’s suitable for any interior that requires acoustic control or any space which needs to make an impression with innovative, UK made design.

A fun new product being launched at the show is Smart Wall Paint, which does exactly what it says on the tin. Smart Wall Paint turns any surface into a whiteboard, creating a real blank canvas that encourages teamwork, ideas and innovation.

Space Innovation Ltd is an independent design and print led company that uses digital technology to produce bespoke, quality wallpapers, contract quality vinyl wallcoverings, laminates and textiles. They are launching, VINTAGE INDEX, their own brand, eye-catching, trompe l’oeil wallpaper. It is available in three colourways, ‘linen, ‘newsprint’ and ‘vintage’ and can also be custom-coloured. Once installed, the wallpaper can be personalised by inviting friends, family and even visiting celebrities to autograph the blank index labels.

Following the official UK launch of Lucem Light Transmitting Concrete at last year’s Surface Design Show, Telling Architectural are back again and offering interior designers and architects the first chance in the UK to view, touch and discuss the versatility and innovation of their stunning programmable Light Transmitting Concrete Interactive facades.

For the first time, Ceramiche Refin has collaborated with studio FM Milano, a Milan-based graphic design agency, to create Frame – a unique, bold and graphic collection of ceramic tiles.  Re-interpreting traditional decorated ceramics, the design becomes fragmented and the scale changes perception of how the decorative element is seen. The result is an exciting new surface pattern that can easily be used by architects and interior designers to create innovative residential and commercial spaces.

Using coconut trees that were previously destroyed when they stop producing fruit, Ecopalm Ltd has created sustainable, coconut palm hardwood flooring. Naturally strong and beautiful, Ecopalm palm wood offers all the features of a traditional solid wood floor with an environmentally sound background. More hard wearing than oak, maple or wenge, it is ideal for use in high foot traffic places such as restaurants, cafes and reception areas.
