Epos Now’s innovative work on POS AppStore recognised with national retail award
British tech firm Epos Now has won ‘EPoS Innovation of the Year’ at the national Retail Systems Awards 2015, thanks to its revolutionary work developing the UK’s first point of sale (POS) AppStore.
The young start-up, which is now the UK’s largest independent EPOS supplier, officially launched the AppStore earlier this year, making hundreds of business-boosting web services accessible to hospitality, retail and beauty firms nationwide.
Recognising innovative EPOS technology that achieves clear business benefits, the award saw Epos Now’s work on the AppStore beat three other companies in the running for EPoS Innovation of the Year 2015, including First Data Merchant Solutions; a global leader in payment technology and services solutions.
Epos Now joined fellow winners House of Fraser, Tesco.com, McDonald’s and Cath Kidston, as the tech firm received the accolade at a prestigious Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony in London last week, which also celebrated the Awards’ 10th anniversary.
Winners were selected by an independent judging panel, including senior representatives from Marks and Spencer, Maplin Electronics and Moët Hennessy.
Jacyn Heavens, CEO, Epos Now, says: “We’re delighted that Epos Now has been recognised alongside some of Britain’s best-known retail giants at the Retail Systems Awards.
“It’s particularly great to see the judges impressed by the revolutionary work we’ve been doing with our POS AppStore, developed to help our customers improve sales, customer service and efficiency long-term and adapt to their needs as their business grows.”
Over the past 12 months, the firm, which was started just four years ago, has helped over 10,000 businesses by introducing revolutionary new POS features. Other recent achievements include been ranked the fastest-growing tech firm in the East of England, and 13th nationally, in the 15th annual Sunday Times Hiscox Tech Track 100.
Hayley Johnson, COO, Epos Now, adds: “The EPoS Innovation of the Year Award has a solid reputation, celebrating hard work, commitment and technical advancements in EPOS. With last year’s award going to Tesco Labs [the retailer giant’s innovation hub], it’s a great achievement for a young company like ours.”
