DWELL EMBARKS ON STORE EXPANSION WITH TWO NEW OPENINGS
Dwell, the modern furniture retailer, will open two new stores this autumn in Tollcross, Glasgow and New Malden, Surrey, marking the start of a nationwide expansion strategy for the brand and representing a forty percent increase in footprint for the company in the UK.
Both standalone stores will provide attractive, new destinations for shoppers in Glasgow and South West London/Surrey areas looking to refresh their home interior with exclusive yet affordable design.
Reflecting the latest retail trends, the new concept stores will offer customers a more immersive shopping experience and were developed in partnership with leading retail design experts. They will feature bespoke interiors evoking ‘contemporary apartment living’, with on-trend colours reflecting the latest season’s collection, polished concrete floors and the latest in retail lighting. The new stores will also incorporate built-in displays for products such as mattresses, for customers to try before they buy.
Situated just off London Road in Glasgow with easy access from the M74 and M8, the 6,500 square feet Tollcross store will open this August bank holiday weekend (29th August). It will be followed in early September by the 4,500 square feet New Malden branch, which will be part of the Shannon Retail Park off the A3. Conveniently located and benefitting from substantial, free parking facilities, both the Tollcross and New Malden branches will also offer Dwell’s – ‘Click & Collect’ service – available for customers who wish to buy online and then collect in store. Both stores will display dwell’s extensive range of design-led furniture and on-trend accessories.
Dwell’s founder Aamir Ahmad commented; “We believe that stylish, contemporary design can be affordable and we want to show customers how easy it is to get the lifestyle they aspire to. We’re confident that customers will be impressed when they come in and see something fresh, unique and inspiring from dwell.”
He added, “We know from our online and catalogue channels that we have a lot of customers in Glasgow and South London/Surrey areas, so it made sense to kick off our expansion plans in these locations. We hope to roll out another 6-8 stores next year.”
Dwell’s mission is to make updating homes a pleasure. The full range is available buy online at www.dwell.co.uk or by phone from their catalogue 0845 675 9090, allowing customers the flexibility to browse from home, or visit a store to try items in person. The range is offered from stock, meaning shoppers can expect to receive even large purchases such as sofas within 7 days. Aside from the new Tollcross and New Malden stores, dwell currently has five other branches: three in central London; one in Manchester; and another in Glasgow city centre.
