Choirboy and Save the Children Ambassador Jack Topping Switches-on Westfield London’s Christmas Lights at the official Ice Rink and Grotto Launch

Last week, 11 year old Choirboy Jack Topping became the youngest guest of honour to switch on Westfield London’s Christmas Lights at the centre’s ice rink and grotto launch.

This Christmas Westfield is supporting Save the Children so were delighted to host the charity’s  youngest ever Ambassador who performed three festive songs watched by guests attending the official launch of Westfield London’s indoor ice rink, presented by Huawei Device . Jack wowed the crowd with a live performance of his charity single Tomorrow, taken from his debut album, Wonderful World, out December 2nd, which will feature in the organisation’s Christmas TVC and raise funds for Save the Children.

Introduced on-stage in The Atrium by Margherita Taylor, Jack led the countdown from ten with gathered guests eager to see the dazzling lights.

Jack Topping said: “It was so exciting to sing my new song live to such a big crowd at Westfield London. To then be able to switch-on the lights was a really special moment. Everyone said ‘ooh’ when they saw how beautiful they were!”

The Christmas Lights switch-on culminated a perfect evening of ice skating, champagne, canapés and entertainment by ice skating troupe Burlesque on Ice as well as a stellar line up of Westfield Presents performers including Mayor Of London Gigs winner 2013 Stella Star, The Brit School’s Joy Nkoyo and Tia Wright. Younger visitors enjoyed the truly magical, all-digital, 5D personalised Christmas Grotto experience and were immersed in a stereoscopic 3D visual experience which incorporates a fourth dimension of wind, lights and elf dust! Guests of all ages enjoyed the newly opened ice rink where kids and adults skated in style.

Some special guests dropped in to see Jack perform and hit the ice with their families, including Fay Ripley, Lucy Benjamin, Kingsland Road, Louise Thompson, Nina Wadia, Tina Hobley, and Lydia Bright.

Jack Topping’s track Tomorrow is tipped to challenge the winner of The X Factor in the race for the Christmas number one with Westfield calling on its customers to help push Jack over the edge.

Myf Ryan, Westfield’s Marketing Director – UK and Europe said: “The lights switch-on event is always a great occasion and this year it was made even more special with Jack Topping’s performance of his Save the Children charity single Tomorrow. The inspiring 11 year old entertained our guests with his beautiful voice and we’re hoping Jack’s single Tomorrow take the number one Christmas spot in the charts and raises lots of money for our Christmas charity partner.  Last night kicked-off a series of festive activities and events that will be held at Westfield London in the run-up to Christmas.”
