C-Store Forum to Take Place in Cannes

The convenience sector has been one of the very few beneficiaries of the recession, largely due to a seismic shift in shopper habits.  According to a recent poll by PayPoint, just over 85% of those surveyed stated a preference for neighbourhood shopping – a preference which has been reflected in a 15% rise in the average spend in the c-store sector over the past three years.

The convenience retail market now represents 20% of the total UK food and grocery market. Symbol groups and non-affiliated independents make up the lion’s share of the sector, closely followed by convenience multiples, forecourts and co-operatives.  Key representatives from each of these groups will be at the 2013 C-Store Forum which takes place on June 10th-11th in Cannes. “To see some of the biggest, best and busiest names in the industry take time out of their schedules demonstrates how they value the forum” says Caroline Thomson of the SUBWAY® brand. “The forum allows us quality time with the retailers, enabling us to build on new and existing relationships”

The forum is all about achieving the highest standards of customer experience, improving efficiencies and lowering costs. Already signed up is symbol group Musgrave Retail Partners.  Says Dan Quest, Budgens Sale Director: “The format helps us gain valuable contacts with new and existing businesses.  It’s an absolute must for suppliers and retailers wanting to keep ahead of the retail market!”

Staged at the stunning Pullman Cannes Mandelieu Hotel, C-Store Forum is fully residential and combines a program of pre-arranged one-to-ones with informal networking.  If you would like to find out more, please visit www.openroomevents.com.
