British P-O-P proves in-store favourite at Global Awards

This year’s annual POPAI Global Marketing at Retail Awards was an unprecedented success for British interests, as UK companies took home a total of five awards, out of the 20 categories up for grabs. Impact Creative, Kesslers International, Mood Media, Realisation and Valley all saw success in Las Vegas.

In total, over 200 nominees were eligible to participate in this year’s Global Awards; To qualify, entrants were required to have won Display of the Year or Gold awards from the 2011 Awards Contest run by POPAI Chapters in Australia & New Zealand, France, DACH, Hungary, Italy, North America, South Africa, and the United Kingdom & Ireland.

This result shows the quality both in design and production of P-O-P that exists within the UK, and that we can compete and succeed at the highest level,” says Simon Underwood, managing director of Leicestershire-based P-O-P agency, Impact Creative.

Phil Day, director of POPAI UK & Ireland comments: “It’s a significant achievement to have been shortlisted for the Global Awards, and congratulations have to go to all the companies who provided the UK with such a strong display of talent at this year’s awards, and achieved such success in what represents truly the best that the industry has to offer around the globe.

Underwood, who made the 10,000 mile round trip to Nevada to be present for the awards announcement, held in Nevada – US during GlobalShop 2012, adds: “We took the decision to travel out to Nevada not knowing what to expect. It was a great moment for us when we realised Impact had been recognised as ‘best in the world’ in two categories. It doesn’t get better than this. I am immensely proud of what the team at Impact Creative have achieved with both entries.
