BIID encourages members to look beneath the surface

The British Institute of Interior Design (BIID) has announced its support for this year’s Surface Design Show, ‘the home of innovative surfaces for architects and interior designers’; which will take place at the Business Design Centre, London, 5-7 February 2013.

Surface Design Show is a leading event for architects and interior designers to find innovative surface solutions for the built environment. Launched in 2004, it focuses solely on materials for surface design and will showcase new, cutting edge and inspiring materials. The BIID will be providing a dedicated ‘Working Portrait’ talk as part of the event’s seminar programme and is also an Official Partner of the CPD Hub at the show.

“We are pleased to support the Surface Design Show, a unique show in the design calendar,” says Dan Hopwood, CPD Director at the BIID. “Interior designers will be able to see a range of new materials and surface technologies available on the market to help them in their schemes. We also encourage them to attend the CPD Hub to find out more about surface design and improve their skills.”

The CPD Hub will be a hot spot for discerning designers and architects that want to keep up-to-date with the latest issues within the sector. The programme of CPDs will also help members further their personal development by accruing CPD points.

Surface Design Show is a must attend event for architects, interior designers and specifiers, looking for innovative surface solutions for the built environment. It attracts over 100 companies showcasing pioneering natural stone, wood, tiles, recyclable materials, metal, living materials, paint, illuminated surfaces and coatings that can be used as flooring, cladding, ceiling, wall coverings and more.
