Asda, House of Fraser and Icelandair among eCommerce Awards for Excellence 2013 winners

The winners of the 2013 eCommerce Awards for Excellence (www.ecommerceexpo.co.uk/awards) have been announced at a ceremony held at London’s Marriott Grovesnor Square hotel.

The fifth edition of the eCommerce Awards for Excellence, in partnership with V.me by Visa and in association with IMRG, saw several new categories introduced to the mix – Best Airline, won by Icelandair; Best Financial Services, won by BullionByPost; and Best Live Event & Ticketing, won by Eventbrite.

Among the other winners were Asda Stores, which took the gong for Best Large Retailer; Master of Malt, judged the Best Small Retailer; House of Fraser, which took away the prize for Best Multi-Channel Retailer; and Hungryhouse.co.uk which won the Best Pureplay Retailer award.

The prestigious Best Product at eCommerce Expo was won by Yipiii by LX Innovations, a new way for shops to activate users and increase sales by integrating gaming into the shopping process. Laura Wade Gery from Marks & Spencer was also honoured for her Outstanding Contribution to Ecommerce. The Online Gold Award was won by World Stores.

Keeping up with consumer demand and technological advancements is a huge challenge for businesses in this sector, but it is a challenge that all of our winners have faced head-on with much success.”

“The eCommerce Expo has also seen more than 160 exhibitors of a very high standard and keynotes from companies such as Google, Nectar, PayPal, Facebook and Twitter, as well as more than 50 educational seminars which have been fully attended. All in all, it has been a fantastic event that shows why the UK is at the centre of the global ecommerce industry.

The eCommerce Awards for Excellence took place alongside eCommerce Expo, which runs until 3 October at London’s Olympia.
